:iconnumiela: suggested that I make a shading tutorial, so at midnight tonight I randomly started one. Only I'm not so good at staying on target and ended up meandering all over the place. I'm sure the late (aherm, or early) hour has nothing to do with it.

So...this is kinda how I think while I draw. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I hope I help more than I confuse.

You have absolutely no idea how much this helped me :D So I'll try to describe it:
*clears throat*
Imagine sitting with a blank paper having no inspiration whatsoever, doodling ugly hamsters all over the page and generally wasting once life. Then you open you computer, randomly hits the "deviantart" button and BAM! there it is: the most wonderful tutorial! :worship:
Thanks for bringing my inspiration back along with much improved shading :hug:

I get the occational request to explain shading and I have no idea what to tell them. Shading for me has become so intuitive that it is difficult to explain the process. Now I can direct people to your tutorial. Thank you!

Oh, wow. That's...probably one of the bigger compliments I've ever gotten here. If I can be of any help to you, my friend, that brings me such joy!

And YEsss for not sleeping. My campers have kept me up all hours of the night, ambushing the boys, running around the woods. I start giggling for no reason. And then I start laughing at the fact that I'm laughing, and it's a terrible cycle...

Wow, thank you! I'm so glad that my ramblings were found useful. And I definitely feel with you on the instinctive part...I had to draw for a while to realize all the things I do to form my drawings. It's weird, dissecting yourself!
